"Fantasy World on Paper" Exhibition
Exhibition Dates: September 18-th – October 18-th, 2014
New York, NY— Lower East Side Art Gallery, Red Royalty Gallery, is honored to present the newest series by internationally exhibited artist, Kremena Lefterova. Kremena is best known for her ceramic and porcelain sculptures that bridge the academic essence of the Russian Classical School and the magical qualities of Scandinavian Fairytales. Her boundless imagination is now being displayed in a series of drawings and paintings in her fourth solo-show at Red Royalty Gallery.
Kremena Lefterova is a Bulgarian-born multimedia and installation artist based in Princeton, New Jersey. Kremena’s work focuses on the dichotomy of human and animal form, fused with mechanical components that are influenced by her Industrial Design background. There is an everpresent fantasy element to her characters, that, when placed on a 2-dimensional surface, forces the viewer to face the abyss of the artist’s imagination. Irony, metamorphosis, and ornamentation are the elements that create her signature scenes full of contradiction and metaphor.
Since opening, Red Royalty has represented Kremena Lefterova, exclusively. Her work has been shown at the ArtHamptons expo in July 2014 and will be displayed at the New York Ceramics Fair, January 2015. The upcoming solo-show is a new glimpse into the mind of Kremena Lefterova. As the title suggests, this is the artist’s world, finally captured on paper.
